Guile-CV - GNU evaluation

A couple of months ago, we started to work on Guile-CV, a Computer Vision functional library for the Guile Scheme language, and now is the right time for it to be evaluated to be part of the GNU Project.

Guile-CV is based on Vigra (Vision with Generic Algorithms). It comprises a direct binding to Vigra_c (a C wrapper to a subset of the Vigra library), and a higher level API written in Guile Scheme.

Guile-Lib version 0.2.5 is released.

This is a maintenance release. It introduces two new (unit-test) APIs.

Prodedure: assert-false expr

assert-false will throw a 'test-failed-exception unless the evaluation of expr returns #f.

Special Form: assert expr

assert will throw a 'test-failed-exception if expr raises an exception.

See Guile-Lib's git summary and git log for a complete description.

GNU Foliot version 0.9.6-beta is released.

This release fixes a serious GUI bug that appeared in GNU Foliot version 0.9.6-alpha: none of the Who , For whom and What combobox gtk entries where editable. Thanks to Juliana França who reported this bug.

See GNU Foliot's git summary and git log for a complete description.

8 March 2016

GNU Foliot version 0.9.6-alpha is released.

Special Note: Before GNU Foliot became a GNU package, it was named Kisê. The change of name has implied thousands of source code, manual and web-pages changes.

The application is quite robust, with respect to the implemented functionality as in version 0.9.5, but the huge quantity of source code changes is, in itlself, error prone, hence an alpha release.

See GNU Foliot's git summary and git log for a complete description.

Grip version 0.1.1 is released. This is a maintenance release. See Grip's git summary and git log for a complete description.

9 February 2016

Foliot is now part of GNU and becomes GNU Foliot. We are actively working to produce a GNU Foliot release, stay tuned!

Before GNU Foliot became a GNU package, it was named Kisê. See here for further details.

1 February 2016

Kisê version 0.9.5 is released.

Good news for everyone: (a) Kisê is now fully autotool chained; (b) it depends on Grip, also fully autotool chained; (c) both Kisê and Grip run strict dependency checks @ configure time; (d) both install compiled modules, shared among all users.

See Kisê News for a detailed list of changes.

26 January 2016

Grip version 0.1.0 is released.

This is Grip's first release:

Unlike Amstrong's one, this is a [very] small step for humanity, but a big step for Kisê's and Guile-Clutter's users :-)

7 December 2015

Guile-Clutter 1.12.2.1 is released. This release now requires Guile-Gnome version 2.16.4. In addition, it adds the following two bindings: scroll_to_point and scroll_to_rect

7 December 2015

Guile-Gnome 2.16.4 is released. This release fixes a serious bug, leading to a runtime error for Guile-Gnome built against Gcc >= 5.0.

19 November 2015

Guile-Clutter 1.12.2 is released. The primary objectives, working towards this release, were (a) to remove all code specific to the support of Guile versions prior to Guile 2, (b) removing all Guile deprecated calls, and then (c) wrap Clutter 1.12 of course :).

Since we are entirely responsible for all patches, new features and Guile-Clutter's brand new web-pages, you can directly send us your applauds and/or claims :).

12 Octobre 2015

Our request for a nongnu project page at Savannah for our Grip toolbox is accepted, with all the honors! Bruno Félix Rezende Ribeiro, the GNU Savannah hacker in charge of our evaluation said:

"... I wish every package submitted to Savannah were so easy to evaluate as your. Congratulations for the high level of compliance! ..."

27 July 2015

Guile-Gnome 2.16.3 is released. The primary objectives, working towards this release, were (a) to remove all code specific to the support of Guile versions prior to Guile 2, (b) removing all [but 1 Corba related that still need to be taken care of, help welcome] Guile deprecated calls, and (c) wrap gdk_pixbuf_get_pixels required by Guile-Clutter 1.12.2.

We are almost entirely responsible for all patches, new features and Guile-Gnome's brand new web-pages :) . Andy Wingo, the original author, did write a couple of patches to adapt Guile-Gnome to a recent Goops refactoring.

20 Jul 2015

G-Wrap 1.9.15 is released. This is a maintenance release only, no new features. Both the manual pages and G-Wrap's web-pages have been entirely reformatted and improved.
